I like shooting models over other types of photography but few people think it’s alright to pay a photographer for snapshots. elaina is a beautiful blonde girl with nice shape and great smile. she contacted me to book a shoot for her modeling portfolio. apparently she went to sharpfocus photography website and liked my pictures.
we had to postpone the shoot because I wasn’t gonna be available for a whole month. but she said it was ok. after we scheduled the shoot, she came with her mom and enough clothes to fill a retail store. not really. while she went to refresh her makeup, her mom asked me if I had done photo shoots with some modeling agencies in the dc area but I said no.
if you say that you haven’t, people will take it that you aren’t qualified. I’m a photographer who can take great pictures of models who seek agency representation. I have been studying the styles of leading fashion photographers from vogue magazine for a long time. I can capture how they move. in the first 5 minutes, I was adjusting my flashes, measuring lights and checking the sync. they felt that this guy knew about lighting and photography.
