I told her that unlike some photographers in washington dc, we charge reasonable prices. our focus was on providing you with a great experience. since she is in healthcare, we wanted to make her look friendly. the dark suit is standard in corporate headshots but she brought wide array of wardrobe with blouses of different colors.
I always start with an informal conversation to make clients feel relaxed. when I asked her how she found sharpfocus photography, she said she googled ‘professional headshots in dc’. when I take photos of women, I try to make them look more graceful. so I adjusted my lighting set up to have some soft lighting and a little halo on the hair. we did a full hour photo session with soft light focusing mainly on posing and expression. she had a serene yet friendly look and a great sparkle in the eyes. she was reviewing the shots as we proceeded and a few nods were a good sign that she was happy with what she was seeing. in the end we took quite a few snapshots and the results were great.
